Belladora 2nd in 3 year old Materiale Dressage at Devon

Bella proves she is a winner, she was second in the 3 year old Materiale class at the Devon Dressage Show with a score of 71.5%, losing by .0199%. The judge Anne Gribbons commented that she showed an outstanding temperament and excellent obedience. I was very pleased with how she handled the atmosphere with the composure of a seasoned veteran.

Bella also took a fifth place, the highest placed filly in the 3 year old suitability class and was beaten by four outstanding stallions. She drew a large crowd in the warm up arena and received many compliments from the competition.

“Rex and Cari started Bella 3 months ago”, her owner Diana Murphy says: “Based on my experiences of working with my now 5-year old (who was started in a clinic with Rex at Windrock Farm as a 3-year old), I knew you were the right choice for starting my 3-year old filly. However, you have blown away any expectations that I could have had for training this lovely young lady. If you remember, the day she came to you, she had a bit of attitude and it’s fair to say she was fresh! She swatted with her front leg when she didn’t want to listen to her handler, she reared to try to get out of doing things that she didn’t want to do. But by day 2, she learned that those nasty habits would not be tolerated!

My filly learned quickly because of your methodical teachings. Without your daily training, we would not have received the praise of Anne Gribbons (judge at Devon). She specifically praised her “lovely character” calling her “honest” and stating that she “did everything you asked her to do”, while others commented that they couldn’t belive she was only a 3-year old filly. All I could think about was that fresh filly on the day she arrived at your barn! I knew your training was awesome and Bella looked great, but who could have imagined such a successful end result considering the level of competition and quality of horses that she was competing against! Her competition was the best of the best. Needless to say, I was blown away by the experience at NEDA Fall Festival and Dressage at Devon. In just over 3 months, you took a fresh, unbroke filly to a high scoring 3-year old filly at two of the largest shows in the Northeast!!! I can’t thank you enough for your hard work and dedication. Watching you bring this lovely young filly along has been an amazing experience.”
