This unique rope was  utilizing pressure and release was designed and patented by Rex to assist trainers in putting the horses head down as part of the horses groundwork foundation training.  This is also recommended for horses who are hard to bridle or horses who are difficult to touch on the head.  The trainer can easily teach a horse to drop his head for the bridle, clip the ears and head, or doctor any injuries on the head. The simple design puts pressure on the horses poll and mouth,  the trainer releases the pressure as soon as the horse moves in the desired direction, that is lowering the head the trainer places his hand on the horses neck, moving toward the poll and pinching lightly at the poll prior to putting pressure on the Sugar String, as soon as the horse responds, the SS is released, thus the horse will learn to put his head down when the trainers hand is on the poll, or to an extreme when the trainer says “head down”. This tool should always be used by an experienced horseman and the horse must never be tied with this rope.
